What to Do To Become a Good Creative Writer
To gain the title of a good writer you should take the following seriously :
1. Research
Although creative writing is a work of fiction, getting things right in your story adds a plus to it and helps your readers to relate to it well. And you can get things right by researching the things you write about.
Example:
If you have a hospital scene in your story, make sure you know all the terms used in a hospital. You can’t say the doctor used a ruler to check a patient’s heartbeat in a hospital scene.
2. Avoid Plagiarism
Plagiarism is when you pass on somebody else’s work as your own or take credit for someone else’s work.
Plagiarism and using work that is from a third party is a criminal offence and you can go to jail for it. To be a good writer, avoid passing off someone’s work as yours.
If for some reason you have to use someone’s work, do ask for their permission and always acknowledge them.
3. Practice
There is this old saying that ‘practice makes perfect.’ It is the same with writing. The more you write, the better you become so, write a lot. And if you like, The Klever Magg will publish your work on their website free of charge for you with, your parent’s consent, of course, if you are under eighteen years.
4. Read a lot
Reading has a lot of benefits. It will improve your vocabulary, spelling, grammar, etc. It will also give you ideas for your story and help you know more about the genre you choose to write. So, read a lot.
